L'ART DE LA
MALLETERIE

UN SAVOIR-FAIRE
GOYARD ANCESTRAL

ELECTIVE AFFINITIES SINCE 1853

Since its establishment, Goyard has kept track of every special order placed via a system of index cards.

Like an alternative history of the last two centuries,
they record the names of the many personalities who traveled with Goyard over the course of time.

As a tribute,
Goyard is pleased to present “Luggage of Fame”,
a film celebrating these special relationships.

A PRESTIGIOUS CLIENTELE

Famous artists, captains of industry, heads of state or royals:

Goyard has had the privilege to craft exceptional trunks and luggage for the leading personalities of the 19th and 20th century.

Goyard has carefully kept alive this outstanding legacy with the Goyard Heritage Collection,a treasure trove of vintage Goyard trunks encompassing every chapter of its history.

MARILYN MONROE

In the 1950s,
the Goyard workshops crafted for the Hollywood legend a set of great modernity comprising suitcases in various sizes, along with a matching hat box.

THE DUKE AND DUCHESS OF WINDSOR

A Royal Romance

Their love story was one of the most controversial of the 20th century,
and shook the foundations of British Monarchy.

But it endured until death did them apart, and so did their penchant for Goyard.

The Duke and Duchess of Windsor placed their first Goyard order in 1939,
and remained faithful to the Maison for the rest of their lives,
acquiring numerous trunks and suitcases over the years,
all marked with their colors: blue and yellow for the Duchess,
red and yellow for the Duke.

SIR ARTHUR CONAN DOYLE

In 1925, Edmond Goyard received a special order from the author of Sherlock Holmes, one that would prove a technical and aesthetic challenge: a custom-made trunk that would enable him to comfortably pursue his writing on his continuous worldwide journeys.

The Goyard workshops

crafted an amazing ‘writing trunk’
seamlessly transforming into an actual writing desk complete with folding table, bookcase, typewriter, and storage space for documents and manuscripts.
